Electrical Installation Condition Report

eicr

As a private landlord, it is your responsibility to ensure that the electrics and electric appliances are safe within your property – not just before a tenant moves in – but throughout the whole tenancy agreement. You must also ensure that the property has working smoke alarms!

From June 2020, it became a legal requirement for private landlords to have an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) conducted by a qualified and competent person, every five years or on change of tenant, to check whether the wiring and electrics are safe within the property. Failure to do so could mean fines of up to £30,000 and your insurance invalidated.

At DomElec, our qualified and experienced electricians are specially trained in conducting EICR inspections and will check whether your electrics are in a “satisfactory” or “unsatisfactory” condition and safe for continued use.

To find out more about EICR testing, call us today – we can also conduct EICR’s for conveyancing purposes and House of Multiple Occupancy (HMO) as well as commercial and industrial properties including schools, shops, offices and more.
